Court Orders Probe of EndSARS Protest Promoters

A Chief Magistrate court in Abuja has ordered the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory to investigate some Nigerians who promoted the EndSARS protests. In a letter written to the Commissioner of Police, the Presiding Chief Magistrate , Hon Omolola Akindele directed an investigation after which the police will report back within two weeks for proper adjudication of the case. The case was instituted last Monday pursuant to sections 88,109(a), 110(1)(c) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

According to reports, the criminal complaint against these notable Nigerians was filed by an activist Kenechukwu Okeke.

Okeke claimed that his properties were destroyed after the hijack of the EndSARS protests and the defendants who promoted the EndSARS protests must be brought to Justice.

Notable among the defendants are Senior pastor, Daystar Christian Center, Sam Adeyemi Damini Ogulu known as Burna Boy, David Adeleke, known as Davido, Folarin Falana, aka Falz, Peter and Paul Okoye, Innocent Idibia ,aka TuBaba, Bankole Wellington aka Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Micheal Ajereh aka Don Jazzy , Ayo Balogun aka Wizkid and Yemi Alade.

Others are Social Media comedians Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni and Maryaam Apaokagi aka Taoma.

Other defendants apart from musicians are Activist Aisha Yesufu, ex Super Eagles Star , Kanu Nwankwo, a former director general Bureau for Public Sector Reform, Dr Joe Abah, Journalist Kiki Mordi and actors Yul Edochie and Uche Jombo.

Other social media influencers are Feyikemi Abudu, Japhet Omojuwa, Olorunrinu Oduala , among others.
