Ghana’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 283 on September 5, 2020, after three new deaths were recorded.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 64 more infections of the novel coronavirus bringing the country’s total cases to 44,777 while 43,693 people have either recovered or discharged from treatment facilities.

The country’s active cases continue to drop as 801 people are actively ill from the virus.

According to the regional breakdown,
Greater Accra Region recorded the highest number of cases with 22,415.

Ashanti Region and Western Region followed with the second and third positions with high cases recorded as 10,889 and 2,959 cases respectively.
