In a recent development, the Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended His Royal Majesty Eze Ikegbidi, the King of Akoh Kingdom in Rivers State. This arrest, conducted on Monday, is linked to the gruesome murder of Ahoada Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim, who was tragically killed and beheaded by suspected cultists during an operation with his team in the area last Friday.

The DSS detained Ikegbidi following an indefinite suspension imposed on him by State Governor Siminilayi Fubara. Governor Fubara accused the monarch of relinquishing control of his territory to the notorious David Gift, also known as 2-Baba, and his gang, enabling them to operate freely and engage in criminal activities.

Ikegbidi was subsequently handed over to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department in Port Harcourt, the state capital, for further questioning.

When contacted for details, DSP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that she currently lacks specific information on the arrest but assured that she would provide additional details later.
