Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau challenges Nigeria’s town planners on ICT

The Deputy Senate President,Senator Jibrin Barau has mentioned that the National Assembly plans to enhance its oversight of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies by collaborating with relevant committees. He expressed this during a workshop in Abuja on the ‘Assessment of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Policy of Nigeria and the Role of the Legislature’, hosted by the National Assembly’s Policy and Programmes Analysis Department.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Idris Ajimobi, the Deputy Senate President also reaffirmed the Senate’s commitment to partnering with organizations to create essential legislation that will expedite the country’s development.

Barau emphasized that oversight is a constitutional tool for monitoring government projects, policies, and programs, and the National Assembly is eager to strengthen its oversight of these areas. He also highlighted the readiness to work with others to review existing laws and introduce new legislation to accelerate national development.
