Resident doctors at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, have announced a one-week warning strike over the non-payment of salaries.

Under the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), the doctors expressed outrage that newly employed residents have worked for nearly six months without pay. In a communiqué signed by President Babarinsa O.A. and Secretary Disu K.B., the doctors described the situation as a persistent and unacceptable trend that endangers both staff welfare and patient care.

The strike will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025. They warned that if salaries remain unpaid by the end of July, they will embark on an indefinite strike.
