The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has returned €5,100, recovered from a Nigerian romance scammer, to the Spanish ambassador in Nigeria, Juan Sell.
The funds were stolen from a Spanish victim, Heinz Uchtmann, and recovered in collaboration with the Spanish police.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, emphasized the importance of global cooperation in fighting internet crimes, which often span borders.
He pledged to make Nigeria a hostile environment for fraudsters and corrupt individuals.
Ambassador Sell praised the collaboration, highlighting its positive impact on both nations.
