Industrialisation has successfully registered over 60,000 verified farmers in the past 18 months.
Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Patrick Ubru, revealed that the registration process, mandated by Governor Peter Mbah, ensures only genuine farmers receive necessary inputs and technical support. He emphasized the collection of key details, including National Identification Numbers, farm locations, and farming capacity, while also identifying their specific agricultural practices.
Ubru noted that the process eliminates political farmers who previously diverted resources meant for genuine practitioners. He added that the Mbah administration has increased funding and created robust agricultural programs to restore interest in farming and enhance food production in the state.
With this initiative, Enugu State aims to make agriculture a profitable venture for its residents.
