The Enugu State Police Command has paraded 11 suspects for involvement in various crimes in the state.
Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters on Monday, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State, CP Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, said the suspects were arrested for various crimes ranging from “conspiracy, armed robbery to wit: vehicles, motorcycles and phone snatching as wells as unlawful possession of firearm.
He said a suspect was also arrested for defiling a minor.
Chukwuebuka Udeh was arrested for defiling a 5-year-old girl; Kenechukwu Longinus (a.k.a Hausa), “M”, aged 32, of Neke-Agu Village in Isi-Uzo L.G.A. of the State, Kosisochukwu Orjielo (a.k.a Bomba), “M”, aged 25, of Eke Village in Udi L.G.A. of the State; Ebenezer Chidozie (m) aged 34, of Old Artisan, Ogui-Nike, Enugu were arrested for conspiracy, armed robbery to wit: Car-Snatching.
Other paraded suspects include: Ikechukwu Ukpo (M), aged 32, of Ohaukwu L.G.A. in Ebonyi State; Ibrahim Mohammed (m), aged 21, of Bayo L.G.A. in Borno State. They were arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery to wit: Tricycle stealing; Uche Chika (M) aged 28, of Ugboghe, Abakpa-Nike, Enugu; Odoh Emmanuel (M), aged 25, of No. 4, Agulu Umana Street, Ogwuagor, Abakpa-Nike, Enugu; Ejiofor Ugwumba (M), aged 20, of Amaorji-Nike, Enugu
Audu Mohammed (M), aged 30, of Texaco, Abakpa-Nike, Enugu, were arrested for phone snatching while Chukwu Nzekwe (M) aged 36, of Ahani-Achi, Oji-River L.G.A. of the State was arrested for unlawful possession of firearm and other Incriminating Items.
Items recovered from the suspects include: 4 Motor Vehicles, 2 Tricycles, 2 Motorcycles, 2 firearms and one AK-49 Rifle, seventy six 7.62mm Rounds of Live Ammunition, 3 Live Cartridges, 1 Machete, 5 Mobile Phones, 10 Wraps of Weeds Suspected to be Indian Hemp, 1 Bayonet knife and 1 Criminal Mask.
The Commissioner of Police called on residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant and continue to partner and support the Police and other Security Agencies, even as they continue to synergize and collaborate towards combating acts of crime and criminality as well as ensure public security and safety in the State.
