The Priest in charge, Saint John’s Anglican Church, Mbaukwu, Reverend Ifeanyichukwu Chukwulobelu, has described fathers as beacons and veritable pillars of every family.
In his sermon on Sunday June 21st, to Felicitate with fathers of Saint John’s Church, Mbaukwu, as they joined host of other fathers all over the world to celebrate this year’s International Fathers’ Day, Reverend Chukwulobelu maintained that the role of fathers in the family is crucial and pivotal to the wellbeing of the families, adding that the protection of the entire family members including provision of the basic family necessities are the undeniable fundamental responsibilities of dutiful fathers.
The Man of God enjoined fathers to shun acts capable of debasing their integrity, but instead, said to lead their families with good morals and other virtues expected of responsible fathers especially now that stories of rape and underaged defilement are taking over the media space.
He equally reminded them of the need to ensure peaceful atmosphere in their homes at all times and to institute family prayers, which, he said, would help in uniting family members and also draw them closer to God.
Moreover, Reverend Chukwulobelu urged mothers and children to respect fathers in obedience to the Biblical injunction in order to encourage them to continue to discharge their duties diligently.
