A statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Aishetu Ndayako says the federal government has approved Thursday, April 11, as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conveyed the government’s decision and extended congratulations to Muslims for successfully completing the Holy month of Ramadan fast.
Describing Ramadan as the month of spiritual rejuvenation, the minister reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all citizens to thrive.
This additional public holiday comes after the federal government had previously declared Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays to mark the Eid el-Fitr celebration, symbolizing the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan observed by Muslims worldwide.
