The Federal Government says it will reorganize various youth entrepreneurship programmes being organised by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, disclosed this after inspecting facilities destroyed in Anambra State as fallout of the recent #EndSARS protests.
He revealed that the move aims at making the programme d more accessible to the teeming unemployed Nigerian youths.
Senator Ngige observed that the federal government has not done optimally in checking unemployment, which is one of the major causes of the protests, hinted that plans have been developed to give more youths opportunities in the various vocational sectors in various ministries.
The Minister noted that with different youth-related plans initiated by the federal government including those under the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Bank of Industry, BoI, and the artisan support scheme under the Economic Sustainable Plan, youths would be properly engaged.
He noted that the N-power programme would be fast forwarded to accommodate more youths and reduce the unemployment burden on the country.
He, however, appealed to youths to always channel their grievances through the right medium, as destroying public property contradicts any genuine reason for agitation.
