Fire guts 90 shops and property worth 50 million naira in Bauchi Shopping Complex

A fire outbreak destroyed over 90 shops and properties worth more than 50 million naira, at the Bababa Shopping Complex, in Bauchi, Bauchi State.

Chairman of the Shopping Complex, Alhaji Murtala Maiyadi, who disclosed this to journalists, said the fire which started at a corner shop, began at 11.30 pm last Friday, 12 February 2021, and lasted for six hours.

He further revealed that officials of the state fire service came to the scene when it only affected five shops, but could not stop the fire because they had only one truck and the water got finished.

The chairman commended the Nigeria police in Bauchi, for providing adequate security at the scene of the incident, noting that over 40 policemen and officers were deployed to safeguard the lives and property of the people.
