Enugu state Governor, Peter Mbah has awarded a full scholarship to a 17-year-old aspiring pilot, Master Israel Echezona.
Master Echezona emerged as the overall best candidate in the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology entrance examination, and Governor Mbah, in line with his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, has pledged to cover all expenses for his pilot training.
During a meeting at the Government House, Governor Mbah congratulated Master Echezona and emphasized the state’s support for the youth’s educational pursuits. The governor assured that the state would not only cover the initial fee of N23.2 million but also take care of all financial obligations throughout the training program.
In response, Master Echezona expressed his determination to make Enugu State proud and encouraged other youths to work hard and strive for excellence. He highlighted the importance of prayer, hard work, and faith in achieving success.
The beneficiary’s mother, Mrs. Ukamaka Echezona, expressed gratitude towards Governor Mbah for his swift response and generous support. She commended the governor’s kindness and dedication to education, noting the positive impact of his actions on their family.
Hon. Stephen Okafor, the former councilor representing Mgbagbu-Owa Ward I, also praised Governor Mbah’s commitment to education and swift assistance in securing the scholarship for Master Echezona. He highlighted the governor’s genuine concern for the welfare and development of the youth in Enugu State.
