Anambra State Government has handed over 8.7hectares of land at Ogbunike and Ogidi areas, for the construction of a 2/60MVA transmission substation to Transmission Company of Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, Governor Willie Obiano represented by the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, disclosed that the project when completed, will be beneficial to the people of Oyi, Idemili North, Dunukofia, Anambra East and West local government areas.

The Commissioner explained that the project would be executed as partnership between the Anambra state government and Transmission Company of Nigeria which was signed in August, last year.
The traditional Ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Alex Onyido, was among dignitaries that graced the ceremony.
