Gov. Soludo Commended For Upward Review Of Workers’ Salaries
The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Staff Pensions Board, Dr Gloria Obiora- Ibezim, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the ten percent upward review of workers’ Salaries, effective from January, next year.
Dr. Ibezim who spoke on the magnanimity of the governor as the year gradually comes to an end, expressed delight that workers also received fifteen thousand naira each in lieu of the annual rice often given to them at the end of every year.
The Executive Secretary further thanked the governor for the prompt payment of workers salaries, the religious payment of the monthly pension of pensioners and the payment of the gratuities of retired pensioners.
She acknowledged the governor’s good disposition in the gradual liquidation of the gratuities of pensioners who retired before he came on board, and urged the governor to consider the sad economic realities in the country and effect a further push in the salaries of workers to take them home.
According to her, their salaries cannot take care of their pressing needs.
In another development, the traditional ruler of Omasi, Igwe Benjamin Okeji, wished the people of the state a merry Christmas and used the occasion to canvass for support for the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
He urged Nigerian electorate to cast their votes for him as he has the solution to the nation’s problems.
