
Stakeholders in the Education sector have been directed to comply with all Covid-19 pandemic rules in their school, in order to keep off a second wave of the pandemic.
Anambra state deputy governor, Dr Nkem Okeke made this known during a sensitization meeting with board members of Post Primary Schools Service Commission and Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Zonal and Education Secretaries, heads and principals of schools in the state.
He stated that lives of Ndi Anambra cannot be compromised as students and pupils were at greater risk of contracting the virus.
He advised teachers to live by example in observing all the Covid-19 pandemic rules as it would help to keep them at alert.
While commending the teachers for their efforts towards ensuring the safety of the children , Dr Okpala asked the stakeholders in Education to ensure that schools.still maintained the Covid-19 protocols as that would help curb the spread of the virus.
In her response, the Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha urged the teachers to take the awareness message to the grassroots on the need to be alert against a second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, especially in schools.
She also commended the education stakeholders in Anambra state for their doggedness.
