Government of Anambra Renews Call for `AKU LUO UNO’ Initiative

Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has renewed his call for ‘Think Home’ philosophy, urging affluent individuals in the state to bring home and invest part of their wealth in Anambra State.

Gov. Obiano was speaking when he inaugurated the 1km Igwe GNC Ezeude Road with Solar Powered Street Lights in Uke which was bankrolled by one of the illustrious sons of the community, Chief Tochukwu Kpajie.

The Governor represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Awka, Barr Emeka Ohuoha expressed satisfaction at how more people were beginning to heed the `Aku luo Uno’ call of the present administration while noting that Road construction is capital intensive project, also expressed his gratitude to Chief Kpajie for using his wealth to develop his community.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Caretaker Chairman, Uke Development Union, Chief Chuks Ezeoba expressed support to the state government’s development strides, which include the ongoing Construction of Anambra State Cargo Airport, Umueri while appealing to the Governor to extend the road to Eke Agu Abatete which would benefit Uke and its neighboring communities.

The donor Chief Kpajie in his remarks expressed gratitude to Gov. Obiano for honouring the invitation to inaugurate the road, noting that he provided the road in memory of his late father, Mr Linus Kpajie.
He then called on well-to-do members of the community to assist the government in whatever capacity as the Government is already faced with too many administrative responsibilities.

The traditional ruler of Uke Igwe Charles Agbala, a Surveyor, pledged his support to Gov. Obiano’s administration even as he thanked Chief Kpajie for the construction of the road and all his selfless help in the community, especially the palliatives he distributed during the COVID-19 lockdown and called on other members of the community to emulate him for the all round development of the community
