In a strategic move aimed at ushering in a new phase of governance, Governor Hope Uzodimma has dissolved the Imo State expanded executive council, including Commissioners, Special Advisers, and Senior Special Assistants.
However, the governor has assured that the soon-to-be-reconstituted EXCO will still have room for those who demonstrated exceptional service during his first term.

Addressing a gathering of his political appointees on Tuesday, Governor Uzodimma expressed gratitude for their unwavering support throughout the first four years of his administration. He acknowledged their pivotal role in securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the governorship election on November 11, 2023.

While emphasizing the need for fresh perspectives in the new dispensation, Governor Uzodimma assured both new and existing appointees that they would have reasons to be proud of their association with his government.

He acknowledged his human limitations and pledged to strive harder in the upcoming term to exceed expectations. The governor appealed to the dissolved executive council members to continue contributing to the success of the APC family and the government.

Governor Uzodimma took a moment to address concerns about the conduct of political appointees, expressing disappointment in those whose actions have tarnished the government’s image. He emphasized the importance of upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service, cautioning against corrupt practices.

As the state enters this new dispensation, Governor Uzodimma laid down a clear vision for a better Imo State for all, urging all appointees to align with this vision and contribute positively to the state’s development.
