
On Sunday August 15th 2021, history will be made in Ovollo Village Mbaukwu, as that is the day Madonna Catholic Church will be dedicated as a Catholic Church located in Mbauwku, Awka South Council Area of Anambra state.
The Madonna Catholic Church was first planted more 5 years ago as on out station to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to nooks and crannies of the community and since then Catholic faithfuls in and around Ovollo viccinities have been observing an open-air weekly mass till early in the year when Chief Anthony Okafor Obijofor, popularly known as Oji uno eme Ogo, a humanitarian community leader and absolute Philanthropist ran to their rescue, not minding that he is from a different village, pledged to build them church single handedly.
In less than three months of intense civil engineering activities, Madonna Catholic Church Ovollo Village Mbaukwu, became a visible reality.
Sources close to the Philanthropist revealed that the contractor that handled the church project was also an Indigenous Contractor from different village as Chief Anthony delights spider web philosophy which is patronizing local content and man power apparently to boost the community economy and local gross domestic products, GDP.
Kpakpando correspondent, Udoka Nwokoye who visited the church premises to ascertain the situation of things and also the accessibility of the road leading to the church premises ahead of the dedication mass, reported that building activities have been concluded as no single worker was seen at the church premises, which is a testaments that all civil Engineering committments have been fully completed by the contractors who handled the project.



Kpakpando met no one on ground for comments, but it will be important that Mbaukwu Catholic community and Ovollo Village in general should come up with plans before the weekend, to do a palliatives job on the road leading to the church as most part of the roads appears inaccessible for low-bedded cars except jeeps and other vehicles with four wheel drive.
The Former Secretary General, Mbaukwu Progressive Union, Sir Nnamdi Ibezim and Assistant Corps Marshall Sir Angus Obum Ibezim (Rtd) should be commended for the palliative works ongoing at the most dangerous parts of the road, as they purchased trips of stone boulders being used to retain and reinforcement the most swampy portions of the road.
Also, efforts should be channeled towards clearing the trip of granite stone seen dumped along the way as two vehicles coming in opposite direction may not be able to pass that portion of the road as the trip of the granite has reduced the breath of the portion of the, considering higher vehicular movement envisaged on that day.
Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, the state Congressman representing Awka South 2 in the state House of Assembly is top on the list of many dignitaries including many gubernatorial aspirants or their representatives that will grace the occasion that will be officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Awka diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor and Mosignors and Reverend Fathers.
