Hoodlums Storm Benin Protest, Free Prisoners

Suspected hoodlums yesterday stormed the EndSARS Protests in Benin City, Edo State capital.

The Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Media, Crusoe Osagie, told newsmen that the hoodlums exchanged fire with security operatives at the Maximum prison in oko Benin City while adding the escape of several prisoners immediately after setting three police stations on fire.

The police stations affected include the Ugbekun and Idogbo Police Stations in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state.

Following the incident,
The Edo State Government has announced the imposition of a 24-hour curfew across the state immediately.
The curfew is to took effect from 4:00 pm yesterday till further notice.
