The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has concluded plans to investigate the shooting and murder of a German based Nigerian, Oguchi Unachukwu.
To this end, the House invited the counsel to the family of late Oguchi Unachukwu, Ihediohanma F Akponye & Co, to appear before its Committee on Public Petitions for questioning on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
This followed a petition sent to the National Assembly by the family of a German based Nigerian, Mr Unachukwu, who was allegedly shot at and killed by men of the Nigerian Airforce, along Imo State Airport Road on the 31st of May 2021.
A letter from the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions disclosed that hearing on the matter will hold on Tuesday the 27 of July 2021, while the Chief of Air Staff, Nigerian Army will appear as respondent.
The also stated that the Chief of Air Staff and Ihediohanma F. Akponye & Co will appear at the hearing to explain what they know about the alleged murder of late Oguch Unachukwu.
Late Oguchi Unachukwu was killed while rushing to catch a flight to Germany where he was based.
