Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has dismissed claims that he hated late President Muhammadu Buhari, saying his criticisms were aimed at protecting his people.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels TV, Ortom said he only challenged Buhari’s government for failing to tackle security threats, especially from violent herders.
Ortom insisted his actions were part of his duty to ensure the welfare of Benue citizens, accusing the former administration of ignoring solutions his government proposed.
He also described the Ruga programme as a camouflage, maintaining that the so-called herder-farmer crisis is actually deadly attacks by invading herdsmen.
