Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has revealed how he endured bullying and rejection during his campaign because of his albinism. Speaking in a recent Instagram post, the governor recalled how critics dismissed him, saying they did not want an “albino governor.”
Despite the mockery, Eno said his greatest encouragement came from his wife, who called him her “golden boy.”
The governor used the moment to honor children living with albinism, describing them as “golden people.” He added that though he once faced body shaming, God has now elevated him, and he pledged always to recognize and celebrate others living with the condition.
