In a television program over the weekend, Former Deputy Director of Department of State Services (DSS) , Dennis Amakiri claimed that governor Babgana Zulum of Borno state went against warnings by security operatives against going out of Borno state.
However, in a counter claim, Governor Babgana Zulum has denied the allegations.
According to a senior official in Borno government in a chat with newsmen, the governor could not have ignored the security warning.
He went further to state that Governor Zulum has a good working relationship with heads of security service which is exemplified in high professionalism and mutual respect
He reprimanded security analysts who exploit the Boko Haram issue on media houses by claiming knowledge on issues they have little or no knowledge about.
It will be recalled that on September 25th 2020, Zulum’s convoy was attacked two kilometers to Baga, killing 30 people, amongst whom were security operatives. The governor was again attacked two days later while on the same route to Monguno after resettling displaced households.
