
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed profound shock at the untimely demise of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife Chizoba, their son, and others in a helicopter crash near the Nevada border in California, United States.
The governor described Wigwe’s passing as a monumental disaster, which has plunged both the state and Nigeria into sorrow.
Governor Fubara, in a statement released by his media aide, Boniface Onyedi, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Wigwe family, urging them to find solace in God’s love and assurance.
Expressing the magnitude of the loss, the governor emphasized the irreplaceable contributions of Dr. Wigwe, an eminent figure from Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, as an accomplished banker and philanthropist.
Fubara stressed the importance of preserving the legacy of the deceased, particularly highlighting the Wigwe University, emphasizing that it must endure as a testament to his vision and dedication to education.
