Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the recruitment of 4,200 civilian Joint Task Force in line with his commitment to curb the lingering insecurity.
The state’s Commissioner of Information, Munnir Haidara, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Gusau to mark the 100 Days in office of Lawal’s administration.
The commissioner said 300 civilian JTF would be recruited in each of the 14 local government areas of the state.
The recruits, according to Haidara, will undergo rigorous physical training that would prepare them to assist the security agencies with actionable intelligence to combat insecurity.
On the issue of water scarcity in Gusau town which has caused the death of many people, the commissioner said the issue had been resolved in just two weeks.
Haidara called on the people of the state to continue supporting the administration of the governor so as to take the state to greater heights.
