Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to prioritize constructive action over protests amid economic reforms.
Speaking at a high-level meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Shettima highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to solving malnutrition and food insecurity through the Grand Challenges Nigeria Project, in partnership with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria.
Despite growing calls for nationwide protests against economic hardship, Shettima emphasized the need for diplomacy and patience, likening the current struggles to the pains of childbirth before eventual celebration.
He reassured Nigerians of positive outcomes from recent reforms, such as the oil subsidy removal, once harvests begin.
Shettima called for deeper collaboration and innovation to integrate these advancements into low-resource settings, emphasizing the importance of government ownership and community empowerment for sustainable impact.
