Headline: JIFORM’s Global Migration Summit to Tackle Climate Change, Human Mobility, and Sustainable Investment
The 4th Global Migration Summit organized by the Journalists International Forum For Migration (JIFORM) has unveiled its lineup of speakers for the event scheduled on October 5 at the Belmont Event Space in Etobicoke, Toronto, Canada. The summit, known as the 4th JIFORM Global Migration Summit, is being presented by Abedorc Productions Inc Canada and is set to take place from October 2 to 14. Dr. Ajibola Abayomi, President of JIFORM, expressed excitement as respected speakers from different countries confirmed their participation.
With a focus on Climate Change, Human Mobility, and Sustainable Investment, the summit aims to enrich the skills of journalists, business professionals, migration experts, and more. The overarching objective is to reevaluate the global migration framework for the greater benefit of humanity.
The summit serves as a platform to address matters related to migration, human trafficking, and business, fostering a stronger emphasis on effective migration governance. The selection of speakers is based on their notable achievements and contributions to the establishment of organized, secure, and regular migration patterns.
Dr. Abayomi emphasized the privilege that JIFORM has in facilitating conversations about human mobility. The organization’s goal is to generate solutions within the global economic structure, all while maintaining migration as a fundamental human right, well within legal boundaries.
Among the esteemed speakers, Honourable Gerry Weiner, previously the Secretary of State and Minister of Immigration and Citizenship in Canada, will lead the distinguished panel. Another notable speaker is Kelly, an anti-human trafficking activist from Canada, who brings expertise garnered through her participation in various UN committees and her role as a founder of a survivor-led NGO.
Joining the event from the United States, Nermin Ahmad, a Harvard scholar and Treasurer of the Executive Committee on Migration, will provide her insights. Philomena Gnanapragasam, Director of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), will contribute her expertise as an International Speaker and Media Executive.
Her Excellency, Reverend Dr. Asie Kabuki Ocansey, a member of the African Union Labour Migration Advisory Committee, is also scheduled to speak. Professor Byron Price from Medgar Evers College, City University of New York, will take on a role as Chief Moderator, presenting on the essentials of 21st-century migration.
Established in 2019, JIFORM, a nonprofit organization, brings together more than 300 journalists and volunteers globally to report on migration-related topics. The organization has successfully organized events like the African Migration Summit, the West African Media Migration Summit, and an Intercontinental Migration Summit in collaboration with various partners.
