The Kaduna State Government has announced the restoration of telecommunication services, more than a month after it was shut down in the state to tackle banditry.
The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, made the announcement at a news conference on Friday.
According to Aruwan, despite the restoration, other measures, such as prohibition of motorcycles, ban on weekly markets, transportation of cattle, and prohibition of sale of fuel in jerrycans in specified Local Government remain.
Expressing regrets at the inconveniences caused, he commended residents of affected areas for the sacrifices made, adding however, that restoration of full services in the affected areas may unfold over a few days, as the service providers are mobilized to power their transmission systems accordingly.
