A group representing Labour Party State House of Assembly Candidates in Anambra, known as the Forum of Labour Party (LP) State House of Assembly Candidates, has issued a warning to Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo over what they term as the traumatization of Anambra citizens.

In a statement released and signed by coordinator Mr. OCN Okafor, the group condemned his recent actions by the Anambra State Government. They highlighted the suspension of the Traditional Ruler of Neni community and the reported destruction of goods belonging to street hawkers in Awka.

The forum called these actions barbaric, inhuman, and wicked, cautioning Governor Soludo against fostering anarchy with perceived tyrannic tendencies.

While acknowledging the importance of obeying existing laws, the group argued that there was no known law prohibiting Traditional Rulers in Anambra from conferring Chieftaincy Titles on non-indigenes, asserting that the suspended monarch of Neni did not violate any known law.

Commending the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, for speaking out against the suspension, the group referenced a letter by the Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council affirming the absence of contravention.

The group questions the justification for the reported destruction of goods and wares of street hawkers in Awka, stating that the Anambra State Land Use Law did not clearly support such actions. They requested compensation for affected traders within 21 days, threatening legal action if not provided.

The statement concludes by expressing gratitude to those who have spoken against what they perceive as intimidation and barbaric acts by the Anambra State Government, emphasizing the need for a fair and just approach to governance.
