Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has gone into self-isolation, the state government said on Friday.
This was contained in a statement titled
‘Sanwo-Olu goes into self-isolation’
by the Lagos Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi.
According to the Commissioner, one of the close aides to Sanwo-Olu tested positive for coronavirus which necessitated the governor to isolate.
The Covid 19 status of the governor was, however, not stated.
According to the statement, other members of the Governor’s team will also be tested by the Lagos State biobank but will remain in isolation until the results of the tests are available.
Stating that this was not the first time the Governor was taking a COVID-19 test, as he had been tested at least three times since May,
The Commissioner observed an increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Lagos and urged all Lagosians to adhere to the prescribed advisories of safe distancing, good hand and respiratory hygiene and avoidance of unnecessary gatherings.
