Also from Lagos State is the report that Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday re-imposed restrictions on worship centres over spike in COVID-19 cases in the state.
The governor, who gave the directive in a statement titled … We cannot afford to relax the battle against COVID-19,” asked the worship centres not to hold services for more than two hours.
He added that gathering of worshippers must not exceed 50 percent of the maximum capacity of the venue.
Sanwo-Olu also banned carnivals and street parties in the state.
The government had in September ordered worship centres to resume activities following the reduction in the number of COVID-19 in the state.
He noted that night Clubs have not been allowed to open yet, warning that all Night Clubs in Lagos must immediately shut down, until further notice.
The governor added that the midnight to 4:00 a.m. curfew imposed by the Federal Government remains in place, while the protocol of ‘No Mask No Entry’ must be enforced by all public places: Offices, Businesses, Markets, Shops, and so on.
He added Lagos State government has sadly noticed that there is an unfortunate public perception that they have seen the end of the COVID-19 pandemic; which is absolutely wrong and dangerous.
