The burial ceremony of Late Mrs Angela Chinwoke Ekwealor, Nee: Adibe has been concluded in her husband compound, Ovollo Village Mbaukwu Awka South Council Area of Anambra state.
The funeral ceremony was commenced with a funeral service at St. Lawrence Anglican church Mbaukwu and was officiated by Ven.Cann.Ezeobi, the Archdeacon in charge, Mbaukwu Archdeaconry, Awka Dioses Anglican Communion.
In his homily during funeral service, Ven. Ezeobi described late Mrs Angela Ekwealor as a committed mother and a virtuous woman who raised godly children and bettered the society through her services in church and works in the community while alive, urging the children to take solace in the fact that their money has raised children who are today solving the societal problem and contributing to community growth.
On Saturday, October 30th, the condolence visits continued as extended family members of Ekwealor, Great Friends of Emmyben GFE from Anambra and beyond, inlaws, business colleagues, classmates and well-wishers were all spotted to console of their own, Mr Emeka Ekwealor who became so popular for his numerous philanthropy ranging from youth empowerment, scholarships and humanitarian services.
According to Mr Obidiah Okpala, MD/CEO Onac Contractors Nigeria Limited, who is the Chairman, Great Friends of Emmyben, Mama Emmyben as the departed is popularly known, lived a good life worthy of replication and emulation.
He described Chief Emmyben as a proven Philanthropist and communal asset who has over the years, channelled his wealth, contacts and connections to assist the youths, poor and downtrodden and towards community development, prayed God to reward him immensely for his commitments.
He urged the children to take consolation in the fact that death is the ultimate end of all mortals and to sustain all the good works their Mother was known for both in the church and in the community front.
Responding, Mr Emeka Ekwealor thanked his friends under the auspices of Great Friends of Emmyben for what he described as absolute brotherhood they exemplified since his mother departed and during the funeral.
He explained that he is consoled by their involvement, supports and prayers, asking God in prayers, to replenish the source and even grant them journey mercies back to their respective locations.
He equally assured them that he will continue to be a Philanthropist who will genuinely assist the youth just like his Mentor and father, Bro. Engr Denis Chiedu, whom he said moulded him and made him what he is today.
Presenting 21 ropes signifying 21 cows by great friends of Emmyben, Okacha Masquerade Dancing group from Awgbu and different musicians were some of the memorable moments of the event.
Other Notable personalities in attendance were, Bro. Denis Chiedu, Sir Godwin Ozoemena Onyiluka, Former President General Mbaukwu Progressive Union, Sir Angus Ibezim and a host of other dignitaries.
