The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arrested Lagos businessman Arokodare Ebenezer for trafficking cannabis from the U.S. He was caught on March 24 in Lekki while awaiting delivery of 60 parcels of the drug.
NDLEA also intercepted Italy-based Omoruyi Terry at Lagos airport with 1,400 tramadol pills concealed in his luggage.
Meanwhile, four suspects were arrested in Katsina with 423kg of cannabis and 86,000 diazepam pills.
In Edo state, NDLEA operatives destroyed over 13,000kg of cannabis hidden in forests. Large drug hauls were also seized in Niger, Enugu, Kwara, and Oyo states.
NDLEA Chairman, Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), commended officers for their efforts, urging continued vigilance in the fight against drug trafficking and abuse.
