Lightening Kills Three Suspected Kidnappers In Kwara

Lightening allegedly struck and killed three suspected kidnappers in Kwara State.

The incident happened early this week in Oro Ago community, Ifelodun local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the incident might be connected with the resolve of the local Vigilante team in the Igbomina axis to check security challenges in the area.

In a viral video on the incident, it was gathered that the victims of the thunderstrike were suspected members of an eight-man kidnap gang, which reportedly operated in Iwo, Osun state, about two weeks ago.

The video clip showed decomposing and charred bodies of three young persons, in their 20s in a bush, with flies all over the scene.

The voice in the short video clip said: “We are members of the vigilance team in Igbomina Kwara. Our efforts against those perpetrating evil and kidnapping people in our area had yielded fruits. Thunderstrike struck them dead. Three of them. God will continue to make us successful against the evildoers. We shall overcome them all by the grace of God. Thank you all”.

Another video clip showed some herders, said to be relations of the victims of the thunderstrike, in a bush, bemoaning their loss.

They linked the incident to an act of God, saying that the thunderstrike is from God and can never be man-made.

A member of the Oro-Ago Development Union (ODU), a sociocultural organization of indigenes in the area, confirmed the incident.

The source who spoke in confidence added that members of the vigilance team in the area briefed the organisation on the development.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, said they were already investigating the incident

He added that the veracity of the incident would be ascertained after diligent investigation.
