Man Kills Friend In Kogi, Buries Corpse In His Apartment

Operatives of the Kogi State Police Command have arrested a middle aged man for allegedly killing his friend, Kehinde Ajayi, and burying his corpse at his house around Felele, in the Lokoja area of the state.

The yet-to-be identified suspect, according to the report, allegedly killed Ajayi on Sunday, July 24, 2022, and secretly buried his corpse at his residence.

A source intimated that the victim bought a Toyota Sienna vehicle with number plate LSD 228 HJ, and the suspect reportedly lured him to a location in the community to celebrate with him then, killed him.

The source said after Ajayi, the suspect, and some other persons, left for the location, but the victim was never seen again.

Following Ajayi’s disappearance, his family reported a case of a missing person at the nearest police station.

Investigation was launched leading to the arrest of one of his friends who gave useful information as to what happened to him.

The source revealed that after the suspect allegedly killed Ajayi, he went away with his car, but when arrested on Monday, he took policemen to his house, and showed them the location where he buried Ajayi’s corpse.

After the police exhumed Ajayi’s corpse, angered youths started vandalising the suspect’s house

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ayah, who confirmed the incident said the victim’s body had been recovered while investigation is ongoing.

He said, “The body of late Ajayi has been recovered and investigation is still on to arrest others who might have been involved in his killing.”
