The Approach mast located around the Anambra Airport has been identified as a threat to flights entering the Anambra airport.

Consequently, following Governor Obiano’s letter to the managers of the mast, American Tower Company (ATC) Nigeria, dated December 13, 2021, the governor requested the owners to reduce the mast by at least 25m as advised by NAMA.

Following that, on the 17th of December, Officials of the State Physical Planning Board led by the Executive Chairman, Barrister Chukwunweike Francis Maduekwe visited the mast location where they supervised the mast reduction in height by 30m as agreed upon by ATC officials.

The ANSPPB. Chairman, Barrister Maduekwe commended some Telcos who are cooperating with the state government through the Anambra State Physical Planning Board in providing appropriate telecommunication still services and warned those who operate illegally to desist forthwith or be made to face the full weight of the law.
