
A heavy downpour and wind storm that happened on Sunday, April 17th 2022, has destroyed properties worthing millions of Naira in Anambra state.
In a viral video scene trending on social media, floods were seen flowing into some compound and swimming pool in a hotel along Nibo Mbaukwu Road.
In Mbauwku community, it was a similar scenario as it reportedly destroyed High and low tension wires including Electric poles precisely in Namkpu Quarters very close to Afor Mbaukwu Market.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to Kpakpando101.9Fm, Mr Ferdinand Nwobu, the wind storm started around 4 pm on Sunday and after which, a heavy downpour preceeded.
He added when those electric cables and poles were being blown down, shop owners along their area were seen scampering for safety and no one was injured and no life was lost.
As a result of this, Ndi Mbaukwu in general is urging the EEDC’s rapid response Unit to quickly visit the scene to access the level of damage, clear the debris for easier vehicular movement and commence repair as soon as possible.
They however commended the EEDC for the usual response in situations like this urging the rapid response unit to assist the community to restore light in the community as soon as possible, as the power outage is affecting business.
