MD/CEO Anambra Urban Water Assets Holdings Corporation Inspects Ongoing Rehabilitation of Awka Urban Water Scheme

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Urban Water Assets Holdings Corporation, Mr. Ejiofor Ikeobi, has inspected the ongoing rehabilitation work on the Aroma-Awka Urban water scheme.

Ikeobi expressed satisfaction with the progress of work at the site and commended the contractors, OVERMAN PUMPS.

The rehabilitation project is aimed at revitalizing the water infrastructure in Awka, to ensure delivery of clean and portable water supply to the residents.

He said, “This commitment aligns with the promise made by the State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s manifesto”.

In continuation of his working tour, Mr. Ikeobi also visited the old water cooperation headquarters located in Aroma, Awka.

While observing the facility, the MD/CEO noted, “remarkably, this facility had been abandoned for staggering 16 years. Now, with the ongoing rehabilitation efforts, it is poised to regain its significance as a vital hub for water management in the region.

“The Anambra Urban Water Assets Holdings Corporation remains steadfast in its mission to enhance water accessibility, quality, and reliability for the people of Awka.

“As the rehabilitation progresses, the vision of a revitalized urban water system draws closer, promising a brighter future for the community”, he pointed out.
