Mediators of the Gaza War cease-fire talks have announced that after two days of negotiations, they plan to reconvene this week in Cairo to finalize a deal to end the conflict. The United States, Egypt, and Qatar described the talks as constructive, with both Israel and Hamas agreeing in principle to a plan previously proposed by President Joe Biden.
However, differences remain, with Hamas and Israel accusing each other of trying to sabotage the deal by proposing amendments.
As international efforts to prevent a wider regional conflict intensify, the death toll in Gaza has surpassed 40,000.
