The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has raised concerns over the ongoing price battle between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Dangote Petroleum.
Speaking in Awka, Anambra State, the Chairman of IPMAN, Enugu Depot, Mr. Chinedu Anyaso, said the unstable pricing is causing financial losses for marketers. He explained that price fluctuations, unrelated to international market trends, have made business unpredictable.
With petrol selling between N865 and N950 per litre, marketers are struggling with loan repayments and salaries. Anyaso urged the government to support local production and clear outstanding debts to stabilize the sector. He warned that continued instability could force more businesses to shut down.
