Governor Chukwuma Soludo is being praised for delivering on his campaign promises in the sports sector.
Speaking to members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), the state’s Information Commissioner, Dr. Law Mefor, highlighted key achievements under Soludo’s administration. These include the revival of school sports, the establishment of a state-owned football club, and using sports as a tool for youth empowerment and crime reduction.
Mefor noted the state’s strong performance at the National Youth Games, where Anambra athletes won five gold medals in track and field. He emphasized the importance of early talent development and promised more sports facilities, focusing on areas where the state holds a competitive advantage.
SWAN Chairman, Chimezie Anaso, praised Soludo’s leadership and expressed the association’s readiness to promote the administration’s achievements, while urging the governor to accept the role of Grand Patron, as conferred by the association.
