
Mob Injure Soldiers For Pulling Down Anti-Grazing Posters
Report has it that there was pandemonium in Abakpa Nike area of Enugu state when two soldiers, one in uniform and the other in mufti, tried to tear down a poster, warning Fulani herdsmen against grazing in the area.
According to the report, the uniformed soldier’s action who wanted to pull down the poster, unfortunately, attracted youths of the area who were already pained and fed up with the menace and activities of herdsmen in the area.
They youths then, descended on him, which attracted his colleague on mufti, so both of them were beaten up.
The report said the soldiers managed to escape and arranged for a reinforcement.
It was learnt that they arrived with three Hilux trucks filled with soldiers, but were resisted by a large crowd of youths armed with dangerous weapons.
The youths later mounted road blocks restricting vehicular movements to curb unwarranted attack from any side.
