More Citizens Bemoan The Plight Of Nigerians As The Nation Clocks 62

As Nigeria celebrates 62nd independence anniversary, a public spirited citizen from Awka, Mr.Lawrence Nweke, has bemoaned the decadence which characterized the nation’s growth.

Mr.Nweke who spoke on Nigeria at 62 suggested that a period of mourning be declared for the country.

He decried the monumental insecurity in the country as a sad commentary which is unparalleled.

On her part, an Anambra indigene, Mrs.Ebele Ofordile, prayed for God’s intervention to move the nation forward.

Similarly, a former Chancellor of the Awka Catholic Diocese, Very Reverend Monsignor Prof.John Paul Nzomiwu, urged all well meaning Nigerians to use the nation’s independence to mourn and pray for God’s intervention.

He regretted that the nation is not on course with a lot of injustices and negative realities.

The cleric decried the high level of sufferings which have impoverished the citizenry.
