
Dr Tony Nwoye has called on the two brotherly communities of Umueri and Aguleri to sheath their swords and avoid escalations of violent confrontations that may lead to another deadly fight that will destabilize the largely agragrian Omambala region with a potential spur of security and humanitarian challenges into other parts of the state.
In a statement signed by his Media Assistant Mazi Chidi Orjika, Dr Tony expressed his pains at the renewed violence between few persons from Umueri and Aguleri, which if not properly handled, would jeopardize the peace,stability and economic development of not only the communities affected, but the state at large. He therefore called on the warring communities to embrace peace through dialogue.
Speaking on other crisis afttecting other communities in the state, he said that this is the time for all hands to be on deck to maintain the peace already established in Anambra state.
He called on all stakeholders, opinion moulders, Security agencies, religious and Traditional rulers as well as state government to maintain dispassionate balance and stressed that peacemaking among the conflicting parties must get to the grassroots and treat them fairly and squarely for the betterment of the state.
