As a part of plans to establish a grassroot government that will be readily accessible and open at all times to the local residents, the Chairman Obuofia Village in Mbaukwu Awka south Council Area of Anambra State, Mr. Benjamin Nwajagu has secured and commissioned an administrative office for the Village.
The Village Office which is located at Igwe Mbaukwu Junction, at the tip of Obuofia-Ananso road was comissioned for business on Monday November 28 2022 by the Priest inchage, St John’s Anglican church Mbaukwu Ven. Prince Oranye.
Performing the rituals of commissioning and ribbon-cutting, Venerable Oranye described the Village office as long-over due considering obtainable realities on ground prayed God to grant the chairman and his executives the needed leadership wisdom and just policy-making mindset needed to achieve optimum results in office.
He also prayed for spirit of oneness and brotherhood among the executives, residents and by extension the entire Mbaukwu community, which he said are some of basics needed to move the Village to an enviable height.
In an interview with kpakpando correspondent Udoka Nwokoye, the chairman of the Village Mr Benjamin Nwajagu explained that the Village office shall be called Obuofia Village Administrative Office.
According to him, the office will serve as the central hub for information gathering, dessemination, and at same time, harness same for overall betterment of dwellers.
He hinted that plans are already in pipeline to create a website which he said shall be manned by those who are literate in tech and other twenty-first computer skills, so that Obuofia Citizens across the globe can readily access the level of development and progress recorded in all sector, even when he leaves office, announcing that henforth that all levies such as security levies and other sister financial obligations shall be paid at the new office.
He frowed at detororiating security reports on his table saying that the Village under his watch will respond with a security architecture that will be difficult for criminals to crack especially this yuletide season, at the same time, urging any criminal element resident in Obuofia Village to leave now or face the music which the Village Security outfit in no distant time, shall play.
Other high points of the event were Ribbon-cutting, Brief Exco Meeting with Executives Merriments, installation of Executive Pictures, merriments and group photographs.
The event was attended by Hon Innocent Nwafor, Chairman Ezinwafor Village and Ananso counterpart including other members of the village and women group.
