
A member, representing Nnewi North in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Nonso Okafor has condoled with the family of late Maj.-Gen Sam Momah of Umudim, Nnewi on the demise of the former Science and Technology Minister.
Mr Okafor described the death of Gen. Momah as a huge loss, not only to Nnewi constituency, but also to the different political and professional establishments to which the late General served in Nigeria.
Late Major General Momah served as Chief Administrator and Adjutant General of the Nigerian Army, Director of National War College and Minister of Science and Technology.
He was also a Member of the Governing Council of the University of Jos, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Uwana.
Speaking further the Lawmaker pointed out that Maj.- Gen. Momah died at the time when his counsel, experience and contribution were more in need for the development of Nnewi, Anambra and Nigeria.
He also affirmed that the late Maj. Gen Momah was a man who dedicated his time to the service of humanity, and his death has left a great vacuum in the hearts of many who knew the quintessential man.
Mr Okafor prayed to God to grant his family, Ndi Nnewi, and the state the fortitude to bear the loss.
