Former presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has criticized the timing and prioritization of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Project by the federal government.
Speaking out against the project, Obi emphasized the need to focus on repairing and completing existing infrastructure across Nigeria, particularly the numerous abandoned road projects posing hazards and security risks.
In a statement by his chief spokesman, Dr. Tanko Yunusa, on Monday, Obi called for a review of the coastal highway project and urged attention to be channeled towards enhancing economic growth through the completion of internal road projects.
Obi’s statements come amid ongoing debates about infrastructure development priorities in Nigeria.
