
The President, Mother’s Union, Women’s and Girl’s Guild, Province Of The Niger, Mrs. Martha Ibezim has called on the federal government to address the issue of conflicts in Agrarian communities arising from the attacks of suspected herdsmen.

Mrs. Ibezim stated this while delivering her 2020 Awka Diocesan Women’s Conference (ADWOC) charge at All Saints Anglican Church Ukpo, which is the thirty fourth in the series.

Mrs. Martha Ibezim who is also the wife of the Bishop Of Awka Diocese stressed the need for the state government to develop policies that will address the influx of Almajiris in the South East as it exposes the area to high security risks.

She commended Governor Willie Obiano and wife, Dr Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, for their high pedigree in security and State workers welfare.
While addressing the participants, the wife of the Primate of All Nigeria, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Ndukuba, represented by the wife of the Archbishop, Enugu Province, Mrs. Joyce Chukwuma, extolled Mrs. Ibezim for the achievements of the Women Ministry in the Province and Diocese, pointing out that the theme of the Conference was well detailed as it addressed every aspect of life, which when applied in one’s daily life, will make things better.

Accepting the Conference charge as a working document within the Diocese, a parishioner, Professor Stella Okunna noted that through Mrs.Ibezim, God has lifted the Diocese to enviable heights through her wealth of knowledge .
In their separate speeches, the President, Ukpo Anglican Community, Prince Emeka Eze and the 2020 ADWOC Chairperson, Lady Chizoba Nwana said that the Conference has done great in evangelizing Ukpo and neighbouring communities.
ln his remarks, the host Archdeacon, Venerable Shalom Ginika, assured that Ukpo Archdeaconry will make evangelism their watchword and advised the women to put in practice all they garnered during the conference for the upliftment of their souls.
The Archbishop, Eccliastical Province Of The Niger and Bishop Of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim offered prayers for the women, church and the nation while special rendition by the clergy wives choral group added glamour to the conference.
