Mudashiru Obasa has made a stunning political comeback, reclaiming his position as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly just 49 days after being removed.

Obasa was reinstated on Monday, March 3, after his successor, Mojisola Meranda, resigned. Meranda, the first female Speaker, stepped down to end internal conflicts, allowing Obasa’s return.

Lawmakers had previously accused Obasa of high-handedness and financial misappropriation, but he insisted his removal was illegal.

Following his reinstatement, he thanked the APC leadership and pledged to serve Lagos residents diligently.
